About
Singapore singer b. 1944. Daughter of the singer Lena Abdullah (famous as Miss Lena). Active as a recording artist in the 1960s until she moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1965 after her marriage.
“Talented Fatimah Huri, a TV Singapura discovery… is both a singer and an accomplished dancer. Soon after she appeared on television, a local talent scout for EMI contacted producer Zain Mahmood of Kaloong Senandong fame, and signed up Fatimah as a recording artist under the Parlophone label. Her first disc has just been released locally. Fatimah sings in Malay and English and has sung over Radio Malaysia and Radio Singapore in addition to appearances on television. Fatimah is 19 and besides being a singer is an active member of a Malay dance troupe in Kuala Lumpur. She is adept in Malay dances and modern cha cha’s, twist, etc.” [Radio Weekly, October 21, 1963, 1]
