“Malay Film Productions of Singapore have offered a film career to an Indonesian singer, Che Kamsaini, as a result of a talent contest held recently in the New World Park in Penang. Che Kamsaini, who won the competition, has also been engaged by His Master’s Voice gramophone company. She broadcasts regularly over Radio Malaya, and has won several prizes in local beauty and singing contests.” [The Straits Times, May 17, 1955, 4]
