About
Malaysian singer from Kuala Lumpur who recorded in Singapore (1967).
“Stenographer Maimun Hussein turned recording artiste recently, completing her first EP for Philips. Maimun, a 19-year-old Kuala Lumpur girl, started singing about four years ago, in both English and Malay. But she chose to record her debut disc in Malay… The record, which is to be released in the first week of September… The fresh approach of Maimun and the Dulcet Boys lifts this disc out of the ‘trad’ bracket, into, as someone from the recording company put it, ‘the style of Western music with a hint of Malay.’” [Radio Weekly, September 4, 1967, 6]
