The former Singapore National Stadium was a multi-purpose venue in Kallang, officially opened on 21 July 1973 by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. It hosted various sports, cultural events, and entertainment, including the National Day Parades. With a seating capacity of 50,000, it was one of the finest stadiums in Southeast Asia at the time. The stadium closed on 30 June 2007.
