About

On 18 September 1950, the Singapore Little Theatre Club (Little Theatre) was formed at the Adelphi Hotel, with Lt. Col. J. R. Burgess serving as chairman. Other members were Capt. N.H. Vincent (secretary), Capt. H. W. Miller (treasurer); Donald Moore, D. Urquhart, Evenson, and Capt. J.C. Davis (committee) (The Singapore Free Press 1950). Three productions were planned for the Little Theatre on Armenian Street to kick off: Ivor Novello’s Fresh Fields, produced by Norman Vincent; Christopher Fry’s The Lady’s Not for Burning, produced by Donald Moore; and Ambrose Applejohn’s Adventure, a pantomime also produced by Norman Vincent.
