About
Founded in 1908, Guangfuju Troupe was an all-female amateur Cantonese opera troupe registered in Penang. From the 1920s to the 1930s, they were active in fundraising and supporting the establishment of schools. Their first performance was the Cantonese opera zhezixi (actable play), The Death of Zhou Yu ( (周瑜歸天).
