Singapore singer & actress b. 1924 r.n. Ahmad Yatimah — married to Jasni Ahmad — had daughter Rosnah (Rose) Yatimah who also made films.
“Neng Yatimah is a Singapore born Malay who was educated at Kampong Glam Malay Girls’ School. Her voice is certainly familiar to listeners to Radio Malaya. Neng is a Sudanese word meaning Miss Yatimah comes from the original Arabic root word Yatim, meaning orphan. She has always been ambitious to play in a film and was chosen to play the lead in ‘Takdir Ilahi” (The Will of God) now being produced in Singapore.” [Straits Times, 9 June 1950, p.9]
